Recently I have been asked: “Sylwia, why did you open Horizon Mental Health Clinic?”

Well, I said, “I opened Horizon because I wanted to help as many people as possible, I wanted to create a space where people could experience mental health services differently. I wanted to create a place where people feel safe and comfortable so they could relax during the process of change. I opened Horizon because I care deeply about my work and the people I work with”.

Attitude

But that question really stayed with me. This felt more meaningful as if there was a deeper reason. This question caused me to think and reflect a bit more.

From a very young age, I have always felt the need to “care for others”. I wanted to be a doctor so that I could save lives. Despite my young age, I was the “fixer” in my family, and that hasn’t really changed. In school, I stood up to bullies and protected others without fear. It is extremely difficult for me to accept any form of harm toward other people.

Throughout my life, caring for others, connecting with them, helping, supporting, even protecting them came very naturally to me.

During my training as a psychotherapist, and many years of therapy, I learned to also protect myself and to set firm, unshakable boundaries, in a healthy way, so that I could care even better for others without draining my energy.

My story

People tell me that I am always so happy and so positive. Yes, I am, because I value my life so much. I appreciate life itself. I see a kind of magic in life and in the little moments, although I had to overcome many traumas in my life. I can say that I did not have an easy and comfortable start in my life. I know what suffering is, I know what emotional and physical pain is. I understand that. And that knowledge allows me to feel the value of life. I choose to live my life in this way.

Dreams

My dreams were always a big part of my personality and my soul. I listened to my dreams and let them guide me through my life. For many years, my dreams were my escape.

I never allowed anyone to destroy my dreams. I never listened to people who told me that something wasn’t possible for me. I ignored people who said something will be difficult. These things never discouraged me, because the feeling that my dream life was real was just too exciting for me. Having my dreams, made me feel most alive and happy. That was the reason why I never listened to anyone who tried to tell me otherwise.

When I was a child, I dreamed of having my own hospital. That dream then shifted to my own psychotherapy clinic, which I now have.

Horizon as a symbol

So again, if I were to answer the above question of WHY did I open the clinic? The answer is: I opened Horizon Mental Health Clinic because I opened a place where everything is possible, where you heal yourself and your soul, and where dreams are callings from your higher self.

Horizon is a symbol, that no matter how hard things seem to be, there is always a way out. And Horizon is the reminder that there is always a place where you can feel safe, take a breath, and connect with yourself, fully.

Horizon is a symbol for all our patients that EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE when you believe in it. Horizon is solid evidence that they have everything they need to make their dreams come true.

Horizon is a place

Horizon is a place where people go through a life transformation, where they are starting to feel more alive than ever!

Horizon is a place where people can change their lives, gain internal power, process any trauma, let go of any limiting beliefs, become more confident, know their worth, and get the tools to make them feel stronger and wiser. But also, to obtain higher awareness of themselves and find their life purpose.

Horizon is a people’s place. It is a reminder that you have your own inner strength to overcome anything. You have the power of free will. You always have a choice.

Horizon is a message to everybody: “Yes, we see you! Yes, you matter! Yes, you are important! Yes, you are valuable and worthy! Yes, we believe in your dreams!”

I put a lot of thought into the design when I was creating Horizon. The colours, pictures, the music, the logo, even the name … all have a deeper meaning that you can read about on our social media or in articles.
