Hello I’m Sylwia Kuchenna
Founder of Horizon Psychotherapy and Wellbeing Clinic, Accredited Psychotherapist, Traumatologist, Author, Lecturer
My name is Sylwia Kuchenna, and I am the Founder and CEO of Horizon Psychotherapy and Wellbeing Clinic. I am fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist with an extensive academic background and many years of clinical experience working with adults and adolescents. I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and adhere strictly to its ethical code.
My therapeutic work is grounded primarily in a psychodynamic approach, with a strong focus on trauma, attachment, and early developmental experiences. I believe that meaningful and lasting change occurs when unconscious processes are brought into awareness and understood within the context of one’s life history and relational patterns. Psychotherapy, in my view, is not a surface-level intervention but a deep, transformative process that supports patients in reconnecting with themselves at the most fundamental level.
I consider it a privilege to accompany patients on their therapeutic journey. Each individual is unique, and each story deserves to be met with respect, sensitivity, and depth. Therapy may involve exploring the past, understanding present emotional experiences, or gently working with the body and inner world. Above all, I am committed to providing a safe, contained, and non-judgmental space where patients feel seen, heard, and understood.
Beyond clinical and academic work, I am deeply passionate about mental health education and personal development. I am an author of three books:
Grow into Your Happiness, The Secret Codes to Happiness, and Trauma Through Inner Child Eyes.
I am also the creator of workshops, online programs, and courses focused on trauma healing, inner child work, emotional wellbeing, self-worth, and conscious relationships. I share psychoeducational content through my blog and my YouTube channel, Back to Self podcast, with the aim of making psychological insight accessible while maintaining clinical depth and integrity.
With heartfelt regards,
Sylwia Kuchenna
